MESOPOTAMIA NEWS FULL STORY :  Iran’s role in the latest Gaza conflict

18 Jun 2021|Oved Lobel – THE STRATEGIST – AUSTRALIA

References to Iran have been glaringly absent from commentary on the clash between Israel and Palestinian factions in Gaza, even though two primary terrorist organisations, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, have effusively praised Tehran and its regional proxies for providing their military capabilities and finance.

Moreover, the way the conflict was framed both by the Gaza groups and by Iran’s broader regional network, from Hezbollah in Lebanon to the Houthis in Yemen, makes it clear that they all view their regional battles as mere fronts in an integrated transnational jihad directed against Israel by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

As Islamic Jihad and Hamas have repeatedly asserted for years, they would have little capacity to start these wars against Israel without IRGC training, funding, arms transfers and expertise. Not only does Iran provide arms and rockets, but it has also established local production capability for all its proxies and trained operatives externally in the technical aspects, even custom-designing cruder rockets like the Badr-3 that can be manufactured with ease in Gaza.

MESOPOTAMIA NEWS “MUST READ”! : WHILE RED CHINA IS PREPARING  TO TAKE TAIWAN

US Defeat Is Possible – Edward Geist June 17, 2021 WAR ON TE ROCKS

If the United States is to have a reasonable hope of winning a war, it needs to think very seriously about what it would be like to lose. For several years, analysts have been sounding the alarm that the United States and its allies might not prevail in a high-level conflict with a near-peer adversary. While Russia and China fall short of the United States in overall military power, they enjoy local overmatch in key theaters that might allow them to defeat U.S. forces. In 2019, analyst David Ochmanek of the RAND Corporation remarked that “In our games, when we fight Russia and China, blue gets its ass handed to it.” In November 2018, the National Defense Strategy Commission found that “If the United States had to fight Russia in a Baltic contingency or China in a war over Taiwan …

Americans could face a decisive military defeat …

MESOPOTAMIA NEWS „NO POSITIVE OUTCOME!“ –  What Did the Biden-Putin Summit Mean for Syria ?

Friday June 18th, 2021 by BALADI NEWS (Opposition website)

The meeting between the two world leaders brings no hope regarding an imminent political solution in Syria, according to Baladi News.

Analysts cannot offer any definitive indications about the fate of the Syrian issue after the summit between president Joe Biden, and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Reports hinted, however, at the possibility of cooperation between the two countries.

Some reports described the Biden-Putin meeting as a pragmatic summit, while other analysts described the meeting as a “red line summit” that was demanded by the two presidents, asserting that the Syrian issue was at the bottom of the agenda.

Neither victorious nor defeated

That being said, this analysis does not mean that the Syrian issue, and what is happening inside the country, are being ignored by Washington and Moscow. Indeed, two aspects must be considered.

MESOPOTAMIA NEWS SPECIAL : U.S., Turkey to continue dialogue on S-400 missile dispute

  • Ahval – Jun 18 2021 09:17 Gmt+3 -The United States and Turkey will hold further discussions to help resolve a dispute over Turkey’s acquisition of S-400 air defence missiles from Russia, a top U.S official said.

U.S. President Joe Biden and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan failed to agree on a solution during a meeting on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Brussels on Monday.

The issue has dogged relations between the two governments, led to sanctions against Turkey’s defence procurement agency and contributed to a slump in the value of the Turkish lira.

“There was not a resolution of the issue.  There was a commitment to continue the dialogue on the S-400.  And the two teams will be following up on that coming out of the meeting,” Jake Sullivan, Biden’s National Security Advisor, told reporters in a phone call on Thursday.

MESOPOTAMIA NEWS INTEL : The Mossad is hoping for a little quiet as new era dawns !

Why did the interview given by Yossi Cohen to Ilana Dayan spark anger? Will the Mossad carry out fewer “daring operations” under Barnea? And who is expected to be selected soon as the next head of the ISA? A column by Amir Rapaport

Amir Rapaport | 18/06/2021 BY ISRAEL DEFENSE

Has the public atmosphere also changed completely in Israel following the swearing-in of the new government? Highly doubtful. But there is at least one national entity whose staff would be happy to be ignored by the media in the coming years: the Mossad. If possible, completely. This comes after the term of the head of the Mossad, Yossi Cohen, under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the interview that Cohen gave to journalist Ilana Dayan for the “Oovdah” TV program.

It is an understatement to say that not everyone in the Mossad liked the interview.
