Peace between PKK & Turkey benefits Iran: ambassador

8.6.2013 – The Iranian ambassador to Turkey said the peace talks between Ankara government and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) is within Iran benefits.

Speaking with Milliyet daily, Alireza Bigdeli said Tehran believes the talks are in line with Iran benefits, stressing that Iran is unaware of the details of the talks. He further asked for caution against foreign power attempts to set their plans into motion. Bigdeli said there are attempts which try to change the geographical borders to keep their political and economic goals, adding that making change to Pakistan, Afghanistan borderline by English politicians changed relations between the two states. Attempts to create an independent Kurdish state are also plans of foreigners and foreign powers not the demand of the people, Bigdeli said.
