Politicians: Arresting AA, PYD representatives contradict political foundations, agreed protocol

Representatives of the Future Syria Party and the Modernity and Democracy Party in Tabqa described the arrest of the representatives of the Autonomous Administration and the Democratic Union Party by the government of Başûr Kurdistan as “serving only the Turkish state’s interest,” calling on the regional government to reveal their fate and release them immediately.

With the increasing escalation and attacks by the Turkish occupation on the legitimate defense zones amid clear silence of the governments of Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region, and after the arrest of representatives of the Autonomous Administration and the Democratic Union Party (PYD), evidence was clear that the regional government was involved with the Turkish occupation state to implement its plans in the region.

In response to this issue, Representative of the Public Relations Office of the Future Syria Party in Tabqa, Muthanna Abdel Karim, condemned “the arrest of representatives of the Autonomous Administration by the regional government. This contradicts the political foundations and the agreed and approved protocol between the Autonomous Administration and the Kurdistan Democratic Party.”

Muthanna Abdel Karim denounced “the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s welcoming of the Syrian opposition coalition backed by the Turkish state, which with its mercenaries practice the most heinous crimes against the Kurdish people in the occupied areas in north and east Syria.”

QAbdel Karim stressed the need for the Kurdistan Democratic Party to realize the danger of arresting the Autonomous Administration’s representatives, as it is considered a clear participation in the attacks and conspiracies on the areas of north and east Syria, causing a rift in the Kurdish ranks.

Abdel Karim called on the concerned in the Kurdistan Region to release the detainees as soon as possible, as it only serves the goals of the Justice and Development Party.

On the other hand, Director of the Office of the Modernity and Democracy Party in Tabqa, Mahmoud Attia, considered “the position of the Kurdistan government towards the Autonomous Administration from the beginning was unfortunate, and in the recent period it worsened by arresting representatives of the Autonomous Administration within the territory of the Kurdistan Region, in violation of the representative norms among the political parties.”

Mahmoud Attia noted the clear cooperation between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Turkish occupation state against Kurds in all regions, and said: “This is openly treasonous and aims to exterminate the Kurdish people, just as the Turkish occupation does in Başûr Kurdistan.”

Attia demanded “to reveal the fate of the representatives of the Autonomous Administration and the Democratic Union Party quickly, and to reconsider the positions of the Kurdistan Democratic Party on the Autonomous Administration to preserve the unity of the Kurdish people in all areas of Kurdistan.”
