Iraq, Syria conflicts cannot be solved without Iran: Erdogan
18 June 2017 – KURDPRESS – Turkish President stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran follows different policies in the region but it is impossible to solve the conflicts in Syria and Iraq without Iran.Speaking with Portugal’s TRT TV, Erdogan blamed Iran’s policies in the region and accused Tehran for following what he called a “Persian expansionism” policy.
He stated that Turkey, Iran and Russia are working together under a coalition to bring an end to Syria’s war and have also asked the U.S. to cooperate with us in this regard, adding that the coalition likes the U.S. and Saudi Arabia to be a part of the coalition.
Except some small differences, Turkey is generally following the same policy that Iran does and all troubles and tensions can be solved at the negotiation table, he said adding that negotiation is needed to bring an end to the conflicts in Iraq and Syria and Iran should participate in the negotiations.Erdogan continued that the conflict and crisis in Syria would continue as long as Iran is put out of the talks. The Turkish president stated although Damascus is cooperating with Iran and Tehran is conducting a religious and Persian expansionism policy, I believe that those policies of Iran war more Persian expansionism than religious.
