MESOP : PKK & KDPI to Start Talks – KRG arranges negotiations between the Kurdish parties

Basnews | Hoshmand Sadiq – 27.05.2015- ERBIL – Following the clashes between the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) that took place earlier this week, the two Kurdish parties are holding meetings today 27th May, Muhammed Penjweni, a figure and godfather close to the PKK, has confirmed the reports and told BasNews that the PKK and KDPI will begin negotiations today. “The outcome will be revealed within hours.” KDPI Official Rostam Jihangiri said, “The meeting has been arranged by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), and we will discuss our forces remaining in areas near to the KRG borders.”Tensions between PKK and KDPI arose after shots were fired on 24th May, killing three KDPI Peshmerga, and injuring several on both sides. The Mayor of Sidakan, Karwan Karim Khan, has told BasNews that the clashes have settled down and the area is now calm.
