MESOP NEWS : TROUBLE WITH PUTIN ! PYD/PKK (YPG) CONTRA RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE

YPG spokesman denies Russian report on deal with ISIS, says fighting continues near Raqqa

ARA News – 29 May 2017 – The official spokesman of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) Nuri Mahmoud on Saturday denied reports quoting the Russian Ministry of Defense on a deal between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and ISIS militants in Raqqa.“The reports are baseless and blatant allegations aimed at discrediting our forces and undermining the gains of the revolution [against ISIS],” Mahmoud said.

A source in the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Saturday (May 27) that Syrian Democratic Forces have reached an agreement under which ISIS fighters could be allowed a safe passage to leave Raqqa heading to Homs southern countryside. The Russian news agency Sputnik quoted the source as saying that Moscow will not allow this agreement to be implemented and that Russian warplanes and special forces on the ground will prevent the exit of ISIS terrorists from Raqqa southward.

“The news issued on May 27, 2017 and attributed to the source of the Russian Ministry of Defense is untrue. These are deliberate allegations aimed at discrediting our troops that are combatting ISIS in Raqqa,” the YPG spokesman said. “We declare from the front lines that our fight with ISIS terrorists continues at the most intensified level and we perform the most vicious battles with mercenaries, as many local and international media who cover our battles against terrorism are witnessing this,” he said.

“What is reported about our forces is just to confuse the reality of our revolution and our fight against terrorism. While we have many documents that prove the relationship of some local and international parties with ISIS, we call on those who claim these allegations to publish documents that prove their statements to the public if they possess them,” he concluded.
