Berkhadan: We will not stand idly, if PDK launched attack on HPG
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander Mahmoud Berkhadan warned the Kurdistan Democratic Party, PDK that their forces would not stand idly, if the party continued its attacks on the People’s Defence Forces, HPG, and urged the PDK to retreat from its cooperation with the Turkish occupying state and call it treason.

<span “=””>In an exclusive meeting held by ANHA with SDF Commander Mahmoud Berkhadan, he confirmed that their forces preserved the unity of the Syrian lands, united the ranks and would not stand idly regarding any intra fighting that may occur in Southern Kurdistan.
<span “=””>Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander Mahmoud Berkhadan referred to attempts by some forces in Southern Kurdistan to commit intra fighting: “In fact, we do not want clashes or war to take place between the Peshmerga and the People’s Defence Forces, HPG, and the outbreak of such a war is a real disaster.”
<span “=””>Mahmoud Berkhadan stated that there were areas under the protection of the Peshmerga Forces, HPG and others under the protection of the People’s Defence Forces (Guerilla): “If Peshmerga launched attack on HPG, we would not stand idly, our position was clear from the beginning.”
<span “=””>Mahmoud Berkhadan stressed that the Syrian Democratic Forces would not be silent on attacks on the People’s Defence Forces (HPG) and demanded that the PDK not send its forces to legitimate defence zones (Medya) or attack the HPG. He said: ” the HPG is our sons, those who defended on the nation and land.”
<span “=””>Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander, Mahmoud Berkhadan stressed the need for the PDK not to be dragged behind Turkish schemes and conspiracies against the Kurdish people, not to be allied with the Turkish occupying state, describing the alliance with Turkish occupying state as betrayal, saying:” SDF will not stand idly, we will take firm decision about that.”
<span “=””>Mahmoud Berkhadan has asserted that since its establishment in late 2015, the Syrian Democratic Forces have played a major role in Syria, for the sake of the Democratic Republic of Syria in general and not only for the areas under its protection. He said: “We never thought about dividing Syria.”
<span “=””>Mahmoud Berkhadan explained that since its establishment, their forces have sought to ensure that all components enjoy their legitimate rights and be the decision makers, to highlight their role, to live in freedom and dignity within this land and to work for a coexistence. He noted: “The Syrian Democratic Forces are now an example of coexistence and struggle, as demonstrated at the annual general meeting of the Councils of the Syrian Democratic Forces held on 1st August.”
<span “=””>Barkhadan stressed that all the Arab, Kurd and Syriac, Ashur, Chaldeans and Turkmen who are present in the region now enjoy all their rights and express their views and proposals in full freedom and live freely on this geography. He said: “Everyone lives equally, and this has all happened through the struggles and wars of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the areas that liberated them, and the concept that the Syrian Democratic Forces have consolidated in their fighters.”
<span “=””>Mahmoud Berkhadan explained that one of their main objectives was to liberate the occupied areas by the Turkish occupying state. He stressed that the liberation of Afrin, Tal Abyad and Ras Al Ain was one of their priorities, as emphasized during the annual meeting of the councils of the Syrian Democratic Forces: “The Syrian Democratic Forces will create the ground for this and create conditions and tactics for the liberation of the occupied areas.”
