MESOP LATEST : Iraqi Kurd Blows Himself Up in Kobani Car Bomb

13.10.2014 – BasNews, Kobani – One of the suicide attackers of Monday’s six car bombs has been identified as a Kurd from Iraqi Kurdistan.

On Monday six car bombs were detonated in Kobani, Syrian Kurdistan by Islamic State (IS) militants. After the explosions, the Kurdish People’s Protections Unit (YPG) announced that one of the suicide attackers was an Iraq Kurdish man from the town of Halabja, near the Iranian border. The spokesman of the YPG, Pollat Jan, stated on his personal account on Twitter, “The terrorist that today [Monday Oct.13th] blew himself in a car in the east of Kobani was a Kurd from Halabja in the Kurdistan Region.” “The name of the Kurdish suicide bomber is Akram Khalid and he is from Halabja,” said Jan. Jan also revealed that the attacks didn’t cause a lot of damage. A source from Kobani told BasNews that earlier today [October 13] IS detonated six car bombs in and around Kobani.
