MESOP FLASH (III) : UNICEF 7000 CHILDREN LOST THEIR LIVES IN SYRIA

Paris – 24.8.2013 –  UNICEF (The United Nations Children’s Fund) declared that number of the children who migrated from Syria reaches one million and two million children have to change their places due to the internal war.

According to the United Nations, more than half of the immigrants are children and majority of them went to Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt and the rest choose to go South Africa and Europe. The immigrants do not have any hope.  “Youths in Syria lose their families, homes and future when they cross the border. They get traumatized and depressed. They lose their hopes” says High Commissioner of the UN Antonio Gueterres.  The UN statistics show that in two years of Syrian’s internal conflict more than 7 thousand children lost their lives.
