MASROUR BARZANI : Baghdad officials behave contrary to constitution

 National Security Advisor Masrour Barzani  21.10.2012 – ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region ‘Iraq’, – Kurdistan National Security Advisor Masrour Barzani said that “a number of Iraqi officials behave contrary to the constitution and send forces to the cut off areas”, according to a statement published on local government site.

He added that “Dijla forces should be used in Baghdad to guarantee its security”, as the statement added. Masrour Barzani, son of Kurdistan region president Massoud Barzani, was talking during a meeting with UN representative to Baghdad Martin Kobler, where they discussed the latest developments in the country. “Iraqi problems should be solved through dialogue, peaceful solutions and the constitution”, Barzani confirmed. He added that Dijla forces were sent without the approval of the Iraqi parliament and the Cabinet, “which is contrary to the constitution”. On the other side, Kobler announced that “the UN is trying to pacify the political situation, particularly Baghdad-Erbil relations”, expressing his hopes to conduct elections “successfully” in Kirkuk if provincial elections were conducted in the country.
