Kurds From Ukraine Support YPG/PYD? / Kurdish youth came back from Ukraine to defend Rojava

Wednesday, 28 August 2013 12:09 – KOBANÊ – Kurdish youth Şahîn Mihemed who was living in Ukraine in order to join YPG’s (People Defense Units) resistance against the attacks on Rojava (West of Kurdistan) came back to Kobanê.


After YPG’s call for mobilization to prevent attacks by gangs of al Nusra and Islamic State of Iraq, hundreds of youth living in Rojava joined YPG forces. However, there are some like Şahîn Mihemed who come from diaspora.

He is originally from Kobanê and migrated to Ukraine many years ago. Mihemed says that he came back to defend his homeland and he calls all the Kurdish youth to join YPG’s resistance.

Another report claims the Kurdish community in Sudan and Ukraine send money donations for the YPG in Kobanî
