Kurdistan Region plans oil deal with Iran & Syria: official

5-12-2013 – Kurdpress – The Iraqi northern region of Kurdistan aims to ink oil deals with the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria, provided that stability will return the war-torn country, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Deputy Prime Minister Imad Ahmad said.

Addressing Erbil’s Energy Congress on Tuesday, Ahmad said the region plans to ink deals with Iran and Syria that is entangled in civil war. The remarks come almost a week after the region’s oil with Turkey, something caused Baghdad’s fury. According to the billon- dollar deal Erbil can export its oil to world markets through Turkey.
