KRG warns al-Nusra over attacks against Syria Kurds

7.8.2013 – Kurdpress – The government of Kurdistan Region has warned Islamic extremist Jabhat al-Nusra over continuing its attacks against Kurds in northern Syrian, Bas website said.

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has warned al-Nusra, through Turkey, to stop its attacks on Syria Kurdish regions, the Kurdish daily reported, adding that KRG has announced it would likely send forces to the Kurdish regions. The KRG has called al-Nusra attacks violation and warned it will be attacked by KRG in the event of continuing its assaults. The daily said the group has received the KRG warning and announced the attacks are due to inconsistence among the gorup’s leadership in Turkey’s soil, and they are against the attacks.

Reports released on Turkey announced al-Nusra forces killed more than 450 civilians on Monday, most of them women, children and the elderly.  Meanwhile the Peshmarga deputy minister announced the Kurdish forces are ready to go to Syria to defend the Kurds in the country but they are waiting an order by Kurdish officials.
