KNC flag replaces PYD’s in Sari Kani
27.7.2013 – Kurdpress – The Syrian Kurds National Council (KNC) replaced the People Defense Units’ (PYD) flag atop an abandoned factory in Sari Kani on Friday.
On July 19, the PYD replaced the flag of the opposition Free Syrian Army (FSA) with their own after seizing control of a Syrian town on the Turkish border following days of clashes with fighters affiliated with the al-Nusra Front. The replacement of the flag happens at a time that Salih Muslim,the leader of Democratic Union Party (PYD), the umbrella organization including YPG, arrived in Ankara to meet the countries leading officials and discuss the latest developments in northern Syria.
