Iraq sent legal threat to Turkey, warns KRG crude buyers

By Ben Lando and Staff of Iraq Oil Report –  January 17th, 2014 – Iraq has begun planning a lawsuit against Turkey for collaborating with the autonomous Kurdistan region on oil shipments and has warned any would-be buyers of legal retaliation and a ban from the Iraqi crude and fuel trade.Oil Minister Abdul Karim Luaibi, in a statement sent to Iraq Oil Report on Friday, said the steps, including withholding revenue sharing from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) over its attempts to sell oil independent of Baghdad, is a matter of national security.
