Iraqi Kurdish Islamic youth blows up PYD office in Syrian Kurdistan / MULLAH KREKAR

December 30, 2013 – Basnes – QAMISHLI, Syrian Kurdistan,— An Iraqi Kurdish man was behind the bombing of a Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) office two months ago in Syrian Kurdistan, according to a Kurdish Islamic website.

Local website Durbeen (Ansar Al-Islam founder Mullah Krekar’s official website) says that the assailant was an Iraqi Kurd from Sulaimaniyah [Slêmanî]. Durbeen also claims to be in possession of the video of the attack, which killed 30 PYD members and injured more than 100 people. 22-year-old Abu Talha Alkurdi was a member of the al-Qaeda linked Al-Nusra front and fought against PYD. He had travelled to Syria in the Summer, and fought there until his death on Oct. 19th. Durbeen claims that the youth had asked for the news of his death to be delayed, and forth this reason they have only released the information now. Earlier this month, another Kurdish youth from Sulaimaniyah, Handren, blew himself up in Aleppo. Mullah Krekar, an Iraqi Kurd, founded the Ansar al-Islam organisation in 2001, as a merger of Jund al-Islam (Soldiers of Islam), and a splinter group from Islamic Movement of Kurdistan (IMK). Ansar al-Islam is listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and Iraqi Kurdistan government KRG. The group is also suspected in suicide bombings of coalition forces in Iraqi Kurdistan, Krekar in one of the most wanted in Iraqi Kurdistan region on charges of terrorist attacks in the region.

Mulla Krekar, led the Ansar al-Islam organization, founded in 2001. “Krekar” with real name Fateh Najmeddin Faraj has immigrated to Norway in 1991 after “Islamic scholarship” and training in Pakistan and Afghanistan in 1980s. Earlier his pictures from Afghanistan has been published in many Islamic web sites and Krekar has also confirmed that he had meeting with Osama bin Ladin already in 1988 in Peshawar in Pakistan.
