EU Parliament holds special session on Kurdish Genocide

13.02.2014 – Mewan Dolamari – B asNews, Erbil – The EU Parliament is holding a special session today on the Kurdish Genocide following Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Massoud Barzani’s recent visit with the EU Parliament and request that the Kurdish Genocide be officially recognized.

EU parliament members, the European commission and a Kurdish delegation including the Minister of Martyrs and Anfal Affairs will attend the session, titled “Kurdish Genocide by Saddam Hussein.”

Today’s session in Brussels, organized by the Committee of Iraqi Relations in the EU Parliament, follows a meeting on the Kurdish Genocide last week held by the EU in the French city of Strasburg. Dlawar Azhgayie, the KRG Representative to the EU, said that after Barzani’s request, the EU has been working more seriously on the case. He noted Kurdish representatives are also continuing their efforts to have the EU officially recognize the Kurdish Genocide. The Ministry of Martyrs and Anfal Affairs and various Kurdish officials are working hard to have the Kurdish Genocide recognized officially by the U.S., the UK, Sweden and other governments around the world.
