Damascus will not give federalism to Kurds: minister

Kurdpress 30.6.2013 – Syria Information Minister stated the government of his country has relation will all Kurdish parties but cannot meet the Kurds’ demands to have federalism.

Speaking with Rudaw TV, the minister Amran al-Zaebi said Damascus has a good reaction with all Kurdish parties and does not have any problems with them.“We do not have any problems with Kurdish parties. Syria has its special situation. We want all of people to live in peace and fraternity. Syria government respects democracy and equality and accepts any democratic and right demands but we have no plan to grant federalism to the Kurds,” he said.He further added Damascus is ready to meet the right demands of all Kurdish parties. “We have links to all Iraqi parties and respect leader Massoud Barzani and leader Jalal Talabani,” he went on to say.
