Neunhundert Tage, vom 8. September 1941 bis zum 27. Januar 1944 wurde Leningrad von der Deutschen Wehrmacht belagert. Über eine Million Leningrader starben, die meisten verhungerten. Der Massentod durch Verhungern war von den Deutschen gewollt.
Siebzig Jahre nach Ende der Belagerung Leningrads hat der Bundestag wie alle Jahre üblich der Opfer des Nationalsozialismus gedacht. Erneut erschallten folgenlos die hohlen Worte im Hohen Haus, dass alles getan werden müsse, damit ein solches Verbrechen sich nicht wiederhole.
In Syrien lässt der Diktator unbotmäßige Städte belagern, damit die Bevölkerung verhungert. Er hat ein Erbe Hitlers angetreten und wird genau wie sein Vorbild verenden. Politiker, Industrielle, Kirchen und Pazifisten aus Deutschland haben die unheilige Allianz des Wegschauens fortgesetzt. Die Pazifisten fordern, dass der Westen nicht militärisch in Syrien eingreift und keinem Hungernden hilft. Der Bundestag wiederholt die Gebetsmühle:
„Nie wieder Krieg, nie wieder Faschismus!“
In 70 Jahren wird ein Greis aus Syrien, der die Hungerblockade als Kind überlebt haben wird, im Bundestag sprechen dürfen. Schon heute weiß ich, was der zukünftige Bundestagpräsident sagen wird:
„Es muss alles getan werden, damit ein solches Verbrechen sich nicht wiederholt.“

ANF – KOBANÊ 27.01.2014 – The Kobanê Canton Democratic Autonomous Administration Legislative Assembly met today at 9 am in the Kobanê Culture and Art Centre and declared autonomy. The Kobanê canton will be administered by a legislative assembly president, two deputies and 22 ministers. Rojava is the most stable and secure area within Syria, though its security was hard won: each town sports dozens of fresh graves, and pictures of martyrs dot most shops, homes, and street lamps. While every Iraqi Kurdish minister boasts a large office with fancy carpets, the most recent televisions, and ornate couches, Rojava officials do their work in ordinary apartments and small rooms alongside kerosene heaters often without a carpet and sometimes without even a desk.
