‘Dear Ocalan says that without Kurds’ liberation, Turkey won’t liberate’

MARDIN (DIHA) 28.1.2013 – – Speaking in the BDP Mardin Provincal Congress the DTK Co-chair Ahmet Turk gave information about the meeting he made with PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan

and said, “Dear Ocalan says these: ‘I don’t want our people to strangle each other. But when some deny Kurdish people, what can I do? Without Kurdish people liberate, Turkish people won’t liberate. When a attitude doesn’t come to Kurdish people on the base of justice and equality, what can I do? All the demands take base the justice and equality unity of Kurdish and Turkish people.’ The expectation is this. And aslo we are supporting these efforts of Dear Ocalan all the way,” said.

The BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Mardin 3rd Provincal Ordinary Congress was took place in Şimal Wedding Hall. The hall was decorated with the flags of BDP and also the poster reading ‘Martyrs will live forever’ of 3 Kurdish women politicians, who had been massacred in Paris, was hung to the hall. The placards of “End to isolation, empty the prisons”, “We condemn Roboski massacre, damn the fascist mentality that instructs”, “Our mother tongue is right, we use our right” and “Women demand freedom and negotiation in the solution of Kurdish issue” were hung to the congress hall, as well.

The poster of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and Şeyhmuş Yalçın, who lost his life in prison sometime ago, were hung to hall. Hundreds of people including the DTK (Democratic Society Congress) Co-chair and Mardin Independent Parliamentarian Ahmet Turk, DTK Co-chair and Van Independent Parliamentarian Aysel Tugluk, regional mayors, MAY-DER, TUHADER, Peace Mother Initiative, KURDÎ-DER, BDP, NGOs representatives, members and executives took part in the congress. One minute silence was held for all those who lost their lives in the struggle of democracy and freedom.

Finally after the speeches, Reşat Kaymaz was elected as the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Mardin Provincal Chair.
