Assad agrees with Peshmarga deployment to northern Syria: daily

Kurdpress – 8.8.2013 – A Kuwaiti daily has recently revealed that Syrian President Bashar al- Assad has show green light to the deployment of Kurdistan Region’s forces of Peshmarga to enter northern Kurdish regions of Syria to fight against al- Qaeda affiliated groups.

Quoting a Kurdish source in Kurdistan Region, the daily said Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al- Maliki has shown documents to Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani which proves Assad agrees with Peshmarga deployment to northern Syria to fight against al- Qaeda affiliated groups including al- Nusra Front which has intensified its attacks against the Kurds.The source added Assad’s consensus to Peshmarga deployment is an attempt for making regional powers fight against “revolutionary battalions.”
