YPG and IS Excluded from Syrian Ceasefire – A spokesperson for the rebels said also PYD is not invited to the upcoming Syrian talks

Basnews English – 29/12/2016 – 20:36   |  Middle East – ANKARA — The Syrian Kurdish forces and Islamic State (IS) are not included in a countrywide ceasefire in Syria, a spokesperson for Syrian rebels said.  Following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement, brokered by Turkey and Russia, Osama Abu Zaid, a spokesman for the Free Syrian Army rebel alliance, said in Ankara that People’s Protection Units (YPG), an armed wing of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), is not included in the deal, as reported by Reuters.

Abu Ziad also pointed out that PYD is not invited to the upcoming talks on Syria which is planned to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan. After nearly six years of civil war, Russia and Turkey interfered to guarantee a nationwide ceasefire in the country. The accord was announced on Thursday in Ankara. Read more www.mesop.de
