There has been an ongoing war in Syria since 2011.
Nearly three million people have fled the country so far – especially
into the neighbouring countries of Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq.
In May 2014 I spoke with a number of Syrian children at the Turkish-Syrian border
and photographed them.
