Iran can help solving Kurdistan Region’s economic crisis, oil problem: PUK official to Kurdpress

3 Nov 2016 – A member of the PUK and one of the PUK officials who visited Iran early this week stated that Iran can help Kurdistan Region in overcoming its economic and oil problems. Saadi Ahmad Pire told Kurdpress in an interview that post-Daesh in Iraq and the region, Iran and Kurdistan Region’s common concern over the necessity to fight against Daesh thinking ad extremism and also solving tensions between Erbil and Baghdad are the main topics the visiting PUK delegation has discussed with Iranian officials.

The meetings reiterated on solving economic problems and making progress and welfare in order to prevent people from joining groups like Daesh and also training and arming Peshmerga and Iraqi forces in order to fight against the groups, he said about the PUK meetings with Iranian officials.

Ahmad Pire went on to add that Iran has already been a supporter of Kurdistan Region and Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani has appreciated Iran as the first country which rushed to help the region against Daesh.

The PUK official also said that Iran can help solving the current economic crisis in the region and also the oil problem and low oil price as well as selling the oil of the region. Omer Fatah, Saadi Ahmad Pire, Bafil Talabani, Dr. Khosro Gul Muhammadi and Yasin Saber were members of the PUK political office who accompanied PUK chief of executive affairs Malla Bakhtiar in the 3-day official visit which ended on Wednesday.
