MESOP MORE TALKS & INVITATIONS :Kurdistan Parliament Invites Kurdish Syrian Cantons to Erbil

15.10.2014 – Hoshmand Sadiq – BasNews, Erbil – Today [Tuesday] the Kurdistan Parliament held its regular meeting where Kurdish MPs discussed the reports of the three committees who went to the Syrian Kurdish city of Kobani.At the beginning of the meeting, Parliament Speaker Youssef Mohammed talked about the affairs of Syrian Kurdistan and Kobani, and stated, “After today’s meeting of the Kurdistan Parliament, the parliament will officially invite the head of the Kurdish cantons of Syrian Kurdistan to Erbil to discuss the situation there and officially recognize the cantons.”

Before this business, the Parliament appealed to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) party not to destroy the national unity of Syrian Kurdistan and not to use the situation in Kobani in their own interests. At the start of October a committee was formed by the Kurdistan parliament to visit Syrian Kurdistan, especially Kobani to observe the situation in the area. In today’s parliamentary meeting, they discussed the findings of the committee.

Kamaran Subhan, press secretary for Kurdish Parliament speaker Youssef Muhammad, told BasNews, “The Kurdistan Parliament Leadership has provided IQD 150 million to establish a refugee camp for the Kobani refugees, located on the border between Syrian Kurdistan and Turkey.”
