MESOP MIDEAST WATCH: Turkish Airstrike Wounds PKK Commander in Hasakah / SYRIA

ERBIL 13-2-2022 -At least one commander of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) was wounded on Saturday in a Turkish airstrike in Hasakah province, Syrian Kurdistan, a source said.

Speaking to BasNews on condition of anonymity, the source pointed out that the airstrike had targeted a vehicle in front of the local offices of Civil Defense Forces (HPC), a civilian neighborhood defense force, leaving several casualties.

The vehicle was hit on a road between Amude and Darbasiya in Hasakah province, the source said, noting that several people were either killed or wounded, among whom was also a PKK commander.

The PKK commander was taken to a hospital in Qamishli, the source added without elaborating on the number of those who were killed or injured in the airstrike.
