MESOP MIDEAST WATCH: Ali Karimi- The reason for the migration is not the PKK, but the PDK
Writer and politician Ali Karimi said that the reason for the migration taking place in Southern Kurdistan was the policies of the, Kurdistan Democratic Party, PDK, the Kurdistan Regional Government, KRG, and the Berzani family, commenting on the KDP’s accusations against Kurdistan Worker’s Party, PKK.
KURDISTAN 10 Nov 2021, Wed – During a press conference, the spokesman of the PDK bloc, Pêşewa Hewramanî, blamed the PKK for causing the exodus of Southern Kurdistan, saying: “The starvation of the Iraqi Government of Kurdistan, the waste of public wealth and the presence of PKK fighters in the border areas are the main causes of mass migration.”
Refugees, mostly from Southern Kurdistan, flow to the Polish border to travel to European States, thousands of whom have been stranded on the border between Belarus and Poland, are not allowed to cross into Poland, and are subjected to adverse pressures and climatic conditions. More than 20 Kurdish migrants have been killed by hunger and the harsh cold, their situation on the Polish-Belarusian border remains at risk.
On this subject, the Democratic Society-Europe Conference issued a statement calling for immediate action for refugees on the Belarusian-Polish border.
As a result of the policy in Southern Kurdistan; In the past 11 months, 37,0000 Iraqis have emigrated, 10 of whom have lost their lives, and the fate of 11 remains unknown.
According to politicians and people of Southern Kurdistan, migration is caused by the practices and attitudes of the authorities in the Kurdistan region.
“The official is the KDP, the Government of Southern Kurdistan and the Barzani family.”
The writer and politician from Southern Kurdistan, Ali Karimi, spoke to ANHA agency about the accusations of the KDP, and the situation of immigrants: “Migrants are in a difficult humanitarian situation on the Polish-Belarusian border and have been closed to return routes or further along. Unfortunately, most of these immigrants are from Southern Kurdistan.
Unfortunately, the economic and health policies of the Government of Southern Kurdistan, KRG, and the pressure there, as well as the conditions of social freedoms and unwell communication, lead the people of Southern Kurdistan to move towards Europe. This is, unfortunately, the fact that the people of Southern Kurdistan are leaving their country and heading towards Europe because of the Government of Southern Kurdistan, Migrants face many difficulties, obstacles and insults.
The Government of Southern Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Barzani family, which control the area, are responsible for this migration. Everyone in that family has become wealthy, and the family controls all economic resources. ”
“Nobody believes their lies anymore.”
Karimi said that journalists in Bahdinan who spoke of looting and corruption in the region were arrested, 80% of whom were arrested. ”
Karimi stated that some KDP officials say, unashamedly, that the reason for this migration is the Popular Mobilization Forces, PMF,or the PKK. He said: “That’s a very big lie. I am myself in Southern Kurdistan. The people of Southern Kurdistan are a great love for the PKK, they always blame a certain party for hiding their policies and practices.
For example, they say that Kurdistan youth migrate from the country; Because Baghdad doesn’t pay the money, and that’s flawed. Those who make these statements are mainly slaves to the Barzani family and the KDP, the position they have given them is only to make such statements.
They say the PKK is exerting pressure, that’s meaningless. With these statements, they seek to please their KDP master.
Noting that migration was caused by a lack of freedoms and the deterioration of the economic and humanitarian situation in the Territory, he added: “No solutions are offered to people, so they flee. It is not Saddam who persecutes the people of the province, but themselves. All this is a result of the policies of the Kurdistan Democratic Party over several years, which failed in Kurdistan. Those who say that the cause of immigration is the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) must know that the people of Southern Kurdistan do not believe them, a people who are conscious and aware of things. He no longer believes their lies. ”
