MESOPOTAMIA NEWS : NOW THE HISTORICAL CASES !!

TL/DR: Dylan stands accused of assault, battery and false imprisonment

Musician Bob Dylan has denied accusations of assault, battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress. Dylan is being sued by a woman who says he sexually abused her when she was 12 in 1965. “The 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended,” Dylan’s spokesperson said in a statement. The alleged abuse took place in Dyaln’s apartment in the Chelsea Hotel in New York.

The woman accusing him of the act is now 68 and has only been identified in the claim with the initials JC and that she is a resident in the state of Connecticut. She says the star enacted “predatory, sexual and unlawful acts”, which, the suit alleges, were “done intentionally by him to her without her consent”. New York’s Child Victims Act opened a “look back window” in August 2019, allowing historical abuse allegations to be filed which closed over the weekend. Over 9,000 civil suits have been filed in the two years it has been in place.

What happens now? The statute of limitations is now back in place so alleged historic abuse cases are less likely to see the light of day. With Dylan’s case, he says the claims are untrue but the claimant is seeking unspecified damages and a jury trial
