The Democratic Union Party (PYD) considered the kidnapping of its members by the security forces in Erbil as “a targeting of the party and in implementation of the policies of the enemies who failed in all their attempts to liquidate the Kurds”, calling for their immediate release again.

He called on national and democratic forces, parties, organizations and human rights defenders to work and cooperate to release the abductees.

The text of the statement stated:

“While everyone calls for the rejection of all forms of conflicts, and with calls for unifying efforts to protect the gains that the Kurds have achieved at the Kurdish level through dialogue, the security forces in Erbil have arrested some of our party’s strugglers in the context of restricting freedom of speech, silencing the voices of our strugglers and confronting the spread of resistance and suppressing the voice of struggle and solidarity among the Kurdish people and discouraging them from continuing the just struggle, and despite all our previous pleas and repeated calls and despite the passage of all this time, the fate of our comrades is still unknown and our party has no information about them.

These practices can only complicate the situation and exacerbate crises. The arrest of our comrades in the Democratic Union Party cannot be considered, but it is a targeting of our party and the implementation of the policies of the enemies who failed in all their attempts to liquidate the Kurds wherever they are, and they have no way left but to spread Kurdish differences and strike the Kurds with the Kurds.

Our party had and has always struggled democratically, and it has always had constructive and supportive positions for dialogue, solving problems from democratic premises and developing radical solutions to problems in a democratic manner. However, our democratic struggle is met with only an anti-democratic response, the latest of which was the arrest of members of our party.

We in the General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) condemn and denounce such repressive measures against our party’s strugglers, and we insist on releasing them immediately, as they have not committed any crime other than belonging to our party, which believes in democratic political action, and we call on those concerned with this behavior to end the pursuit of such provocations which are far from the simplest rules of human rights and national values ​​and without any justification, and we call upon all national and democratic forces, parties, organizations and human rights defenders to work and cooperate with our party to release our detained comrades.
