1920s Revolution Brigades- 23 December Statement

by Aymenn Jawad Al-Tamimi  •  Dec 29, 2014 at 3:06 pm

Translation of the latest statement from the 1920s Revolution Brigades, which predictably repeats earlier talking points of an American-led war on Sunnis/Islam. The same rejectionist mindset continues, even though, like JRTN et al., the group’s influence over major Sunni population centers has waned rapidly in the face of the rise of the Islamic State.

And don’t trust [them]

MESOP TODAYS RESEARCH : In Battle to Defang ISIS, U.S. Targets Its Psychology

By ERIC SCHMITT – DEC. 28, 2014 – New – New York Times – WASHINGTON — Maj. Gen. Michael K. Nagata, commander of American Special Operations forces in the Middle East, sought help this summer in solving an urgent problem for the American military: What makes the Islamic State so dangerous?

Trying to decipher this complex enemy — a hybrid terrorist organization and a conventional army — is such a conundrum that General Nagata assembled an unofficial brain trust outside the traditional realms of expertise within the Pentagon, State Department and intelligence agencies, in search of fresh ideas and inspiration. Business professors, for example, are examining the Islamic State’s marketing and branding strategies.

“We do not understand the movement, and until we do, we are not going to defeat it,” he said, according to the confidential minutes of a conference call he held with the experts. “We have not defeated the idea. We do not even understand the idea.”General Nagata’s frustration is shared by other American officials. Even as President Obama and his top civilian and military aides express growing confidence that Iraqi troops backed by allied airstrikes have blunted the Islamic State’s momentum on the ground in Iraq and undermined its base of support in Syria, other officials acknowledge they have barely made a dent in the larger, longer-term campaign to kill the ideology that animates the terrorist movement.

MESOP : UK CIVILIZATION PROGRESS – FOLLOWED SOON BY GERMANY & FRANCE

The Islamization of Britain in 2014 / Supported by Left Wing Trotskyism in UK

“Britain remains the world’s leading recruiting ground for al-Qaeda.” — Con Coughlin, Daily Telegraph.

When she sought help from the police and a lawyer, “the family of the defendants were insulted that she had gone to the law. They wanted her back within the family fold… Therefore, it was decided that she should be forced to comply or be killed.” — Prosecutor of Ahmed A-Khatib, who murdered his wife for becoming “too westernized.”

British school teachers are afraid to teach their students about Christianity out of fear of offending Muslims. — Roger Bolton, BBC Radio 4’s Feedback program.

Rather than taking steps to protect British children, police, social workers, teachers… and the media deliberately played down the severity of the crimes [of Muslim sexual grooming gangs] in order to avoid being accused of “Islamophobia” or racism. — From the report “Easy Meat: Multiculturalism, Islam and Child Sex Slavery.”

MESOP FLASH : Islamic State Publishes Interview with Captured Jordanian Pilot

The Islamic State published a purported interview Monday with captured Jordanian pilot First Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh in the militant group’s monthly online English magazine, Dabiq. In the interview, Kaseasbeh said his F-16 fighter jet was shot down by a heat-seeking missile near the northern Syrian city of Raqqa. The United States has denied that Islamic State militants shot down the warplane. Kaseasbeh is the first military pilot from the U.S.-led coalition fighting the Islamic State to have been captured. According to officials, the Jordanian government has appealed to Turkey for help in securing the pilot’s release.

MESOP TODAY’S FLASH REPORT : ISRAELI JEWS FIGHT ON KURDISH SIDE / ISRAELI ARABS FIGHT WITH IS (A MOSSAD MEMBER REPORTS)

Kurdish Fighters From Israel on Both Sides of Islamic State Battle

By Hayley Slier – 2014-12-29 19:18 GMT – CHANNELNEWS – TEL AVIV — Israeli citizens are helping predominantly Sunni Muslim Iraqi Kurds in their fight against Islamic State militants, highlighting ties that go back decades in the complex game of alliances in the Middle East, Channel NewsAsia reports. Kurdish peshmerga forces in northern Iraq are fighting Islamic State militants, aided by US air support. But there is also help from the Jewish state of Israel on a battleground that stretches across Iraq and Syria and borders Turkey, bringing combatants from different corners of the globe to both sides. Some of the fighters come from a neighbourhood on the outskirts of Jerusalem known to locals as Little Kurdistan. It is home to 250,000 Jewish Iraqi Kurds, including Gill Rosenberg, an Israeli woman soldier who has taken up arms with Kurdish forces against Islamic State militants. “The Jewish community here in Israel is very proud of her,” said Yehuda Ben Yosef, chairman of the National Organization of Kurds in Israel. “She’s been in the army here in Israel. They do something that I think is very, very brave. We are all the time saying to God: ‘Care about her'”.

MESOP NEWS : Islamic State uses US-made anti-tank missile near Damascus

Posted: 29 Dec 2014 10:09 AM PST – THE LONG WAR JOURNAL

-______________-_small.jpg

The Islamic State has released photographs showing its fighters using a US-made BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missile against elements of the US-backed Free Syrian Army in the Damascus countryside. The images were published by the Islamic State’s Wilayat Damascus (State of Damascus) and disseminated on Twitter by its supporters. In the photo set, many Islamic State fighters can be seen amassing in more than 15 technicals, or armed pickup trucks. The pictures then show the use of the TOW missile on Free Syrian Army (FSA) units. The last few photos show FSA members the Islamic State has taken captive.

While the Islamic State is publicizing its use of the American made weapon, it is unclear if it is the same model that is being supplied to various FSA groups throughout Syria. At least one TOW missile was also recently used by the Al Nusrah Front, al Qaeda’s official branch in Syria, in that group’s recent offensive on Wadi al Daif in the northwestern province of Idlib. [For more on this, see LWJ report Al Nusrah Front uses American-made anti-tank missile in Idlib]

Additionally, many FSA groups have utilized supplies of TOW missiles to assist the Al Nusrah Front or allied jihadist groups in the past. In early Oct, many FSA groups assisted Al Nusrah and Ahrar al Sham in southern Syria with TOWs. Then a few days later, the Hazm Movement posted a video of its fighters utilizing TOWs in support of Jaish al Muhajireen wal Ansar in Aleppo. The Chechen group considers itself to be the Syrian branch of the Caucasus Emirate, an al Qaeda-linked jihadist organization that operates in the North Caucasus.

Pictures released from the Damascus countryside can be seen below:
