KNC announces conditions to join Syria opposition

19-10-2013 – The Syria Kurdish National Council (KNC) says it has two conditions to join the Syrian opposition body to find a solution to the country’s civil war.

A member of KNC, Elham Ahmad, said the Kurdish body will join the oppositions if they allow the Kurds to rule their regions in future Syria and have 18 percent of the parliament’s power, Firat news agency reported. The Kurdish official stressed Syria opposition lines should stop calling for a united nation and united religion, if they want to win the support of the Kurds. Stressing that the Kurds have the upper hand in Syria northern regions, she added: “we consider ourselves as a big power; that’s why we will only make a coalition with them under special conditions.”
