WEST KURDISTAN : Kurds take controle of Efrin rural areas
20.6.2013 – Kurdpress – Days after deadly clashes between Kurdish forces of People Defense Units (YPG) and the members of Free Syrian Army (FSA), the Kurds seized the control of the rural areas of Efrin, a Kurdish city in the north of the country, Firat news agency reported.
Some 30 rebels of the FSA have been killed in the 8-day- long clashes in the regions. On vehicles Equiped with heavy weapons, the YPG and their supporters celebrated their victory by shouting mottos in support of Abdullah Ocalan, the jailed leader of Kurdistan workers’ Party (PKK).
