Aymenn Jawad al-Tamimi responds to an article at Business Insider seeking to discredit his work. Aymenn is one of the most valuable researchers currently working on the issue of jihadi and paramilitary groups in the Iraqi and Syrian contexts. He has produced a number of important factual insights. My impression is that the article seeking to discredit him is the work of individuals who oppose his stances and conclusions on a number of issues. These are nasty tactics that should have no place in the work of serious researchers on these matters.
