The regime’s fighter jets strike the capital / More capital war crimes

Massive car bomb explosion struck the village of Aziza in the suburb of Aleppo, killing at least 33 people and injuring dozens more as the town came under heavy rocket shelling by regime forces. Meanwhile, the Aleppo suburb of Safeera has seen another massacre that claimed the lives of at least six civilians due to the indiscriminate rocket shelling by regime forces.

Regime forces intensified their aerial, rocket and artily bombardments on the rebels-held towns and neighbourhoods in Damascus, killing more than 65 people, the majority of which died in Daraya, Douma, Moadamiyat al-Sham, Bait Sahem, Otayba and Meda’aa, whereas six bodies were executed in the neighbourhood of Kafarsouseh.

At least 19 people died in Daraa today, ten of whom were killed due to the regime’s intense artillery shelling in the towns of Bosra and Ghabaghib. Meanwhile, regime troops backed by military tanks killed five civilians as they invaded the provincial town of Nahta.

Dozens of civilians were killed and many more were injured due to the violent shelling and fighting in Hama, Idlib, Deir Azzour and Suwaida. Today’s death toll reached 145 people, including nine children, seven women and 32 rebel fighters. Regime forces shelled as many as 264 different areas, using all sort of heavy weaponry including cluster and phosphorous bombs as well as barrel bombs. Some 110 areas were shelled by mortar shells and 92 others were pounded by heavy artillery. More than 52 areas came under rocket shelling as fighter jets bombarded more than eight others including the neighbourhood of Qabun in the north of the capital, Damascus, causing extensive material damage.

Fighting continued for the second day in a raw near the southern part of Hama city where the rebels said they took over the village of Bsereen. Fighting also raged in the old city of Aleppo as the rebels approached the neighbourhoods of Qaser Baladi and Bab Janeen. They also announced the beginning of a major offensive to take over the Qouayres airbase in its suburb. They thwarted attempts by the joint Hezbolla-Assad forces to infiltrate the villages of Burhaniya and Saqrajeh in the Homs suburb of Qusayr near the Lebanese frontier. The rebels seized control of a military checkpoint and stormed the building of the doctors association in the city of Deir Azzour as they continued to besiege the Deir Azzour airbase.

A number of rebel battalions arrived to the town of Daraya in order to support the rebels who are fighting government forces since more than a month. Meanwhile, they stormed a military checkpoint in the Damascus suburb of Wadi Barada, destroying three military tanks and one armoured vehicle.

In the eastern province of Hasaka, the rebels ambushed a military convoy consisting of ten vehicles in the provincial town of Houl, killing and injuring more than 50 government forces and militiamen as they were transporting arms from the nearby air defense base.
