The Kurds should attend Geneva II meeting: Sieda tells Kurdpress / BUT PYD TRIES TO DOMINATE

7.7.2013 – Kurdpresse – The former leader of main opposition Syria National Council (SNC) Abdulbaset Sieda said the country’s Kurdish officials should participate in Geneva II meeting which aims to find a solution to the country’s civil war.

“We want all Syrian oppositions to attend in Geneva II meeting in a united front and the Kurds are needed to go to Geneva as a part of the Syria opposition council,” Sieda told Kurdpress. He added the Kurds should not attend in the meeting independently, vowing to give three seats of the opposition council to the Kurds if they accompany the anti- Syria government council.

Sieda affirmed SNC is close to Syria Kurds National Council (KNC), affiliated with Kurdistan Region’s president Massoud Barzani, and said the reason of the behavior goes back to West People Front, linked to Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan, we believe backs the Syrian government. Meanwhile the chief of KNC Faisal Yusuf told Kurdpress that the Kurdish lines of Syria have not reached a consensus in separate meetings in Erbil and Qamishlo.

“We, therefore, postponed any meeting till next Friday. We are doomed to stick to Erbil agreement if our friends in Democratic Union Party (PYD), would not accept their faults and do not take any concrete step,” he went on to say.
