23-4-2014 – Kurdpress – The US former Ambassador to Syria Robert Ford said the war-stricken country will be divided into autonomous cantons, a Hurriyet daily political analyst wrote.

Tulga Tanesh said the US ambassador has addressed a Washington Middle East Studies Center where he predicted the war-torn Syria will be inevitably divided into autonomous cantons and addressed the Syria pro-Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) as “the PKK.”

PYD is an affiliated party of the PKK which is mostly known as a Kurdish party fighting Turkey. The author has further quoted Netherlands political analysts that smuggling is the only way for Syrian Kurdish autonomous canton to earn life and Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani’s aim in digging ditch on the region’s border with Syrian Kurdish cantons is to cut the income.
