SYRIA : Village of Maalikiyah Massacre

The Syrian Coalition demands of those countries in attendance of the Friends of Syria conference in Rome that they take a serious and firm position after the Village of Maalikiyah Massacre .

Cairo, Egypt, Feb. 28, 2013 :  – 49 of the 72 bodies discovered in the city of Maalikiyah west of Al-safeera near Aleppo were identified Wednesday evening. The terrorist Assad forces executed the civilians then burned their bodies 3 days ago. These repeated massacres committed by Assad death squads suggest a clear criminal methodology designed to spread terror and fuel anger and hatred amongst the Syrian people in an attempt to further sow divisions along sectarian lines.

The Syrian National Coalition for Forces of the Revolution and Syrian Opposition vows to the Syrian people and families of the martyrs that it will not rest until the perpetrators of these brutal crimes receive the punishment they deserver, at the earliest opportunity.

The Coalition demands of those countries in attendance of the Friends of Syria conference in Rome that they take a serious and firm position on the regime’s crimes, which continue to cast a dark shadow of failure and weakness on any international efforts sought to provide support to the Syrian people. The Coalition demands of those countries that continue to support these criminals, providing them with political and military support, to withdraw from backing these biased policies, which have and continue to cause the killing of the innocent. The Coalition retains the right to request International Criminal Investigations to be conducted in order to hold accountable anyone who supported or aided the perpetrators of these crimes.

The Coalitions offers its most sincere and humble condolences to the families of the martyrs for this tragic loss asking God to grant them patience and solace and to the martyrs mercy and heaven. May God have mercy on our  martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our prisoners.  Long live Syria and its people free and with honor.
