Syria defense minister’s meaningful visit to Qamishlo

5-12-2013 – Kurdpress – The defense minister of Syria visited yesterday to Qamishlo, the country’s biggest Kurdish city in the north, a visit many took meaningful at a time that Kurdish forces of Democratic Union Party (PYD) claim jurisdiction of the city.

General Faraj Jasim Fahad has visited the city and many young people have shouted slogans in favor of the government of President Bashar al-Assad, media activist, Zara Mustu told Kurdpress, adding that no report has been released about the aim of the visit and whom the Syrian minister has met in the city. Meanwhile the PYD Representative in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Jaaffar Akash told Kurdpress that the government of Assad still holds power in the country and Fahad’s visit is not strange, stressing that the Syria official has not met any Kurdish official in the visit.
