Start of Kurdistan Alevi Conference

MESOP 3.2.2013 – Speaking in the Kurdistan 1st Alevi Conference, the DTK Co-chair Aysel Tuğluk, “The freedom of Alevis is the freedom of Kurds. The freedom of Kurds is the freedom of Alevis. The freedom struggle of Kurdish people and Alevis are same. They are one. We must cry this,” said.

The Kurdistan 1st Alevi Conference, which has been organized with the motto of “Being One and Being Pir are Being Alive” by Alevi movements and organization in the pioneering of the DTK (Democratic Society Congress), began in Diyarbakır. The conference is being held in Diyarbakır Kayapınar Municipality Cegerxwîn Culture Center. A great number of people including Researcher-Writer Piri Er, Historian Erdoğan Aydın, Necdet Saraç, Democratic Alevi Federation Head Ali Köylüce, Dr. Golmorad Muradi, Federative Kurdistan former Culture Minister Felekatin Kakeyi, Free Democratic Alevi Union Head İmam Balsever, DTK Co-chair Aysel Tuğluk, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Mayor Osman Baydemir, DTK Permanent Council Member and Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Mus Parliamentarian Demir Çelik, BDP İstanbul Parliamentarian Sebahat Tuncel, Pir Sultan Abdal Culture Union Head Kemal Bülbül, Prof. Dr. Celilê Celîl, Dersim Mayor Edibe Şahin, lots of Alevi granddads, delegations and guests joined in the conference.
