SPLIT IN KURDISH BDP PARTY – AFTER A SIMULATED ‘PEACE PROCESS’ THE DEBATE STARTS
4 BDP members to defect to form new party
Four members of Turkey pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) are due to defect the party to form a Turkish leftist line, Watan daily said in a report.The report said the BDP members, including Sabahat Tuncel, Sirri Sureya Onder, Lunet Ozel and Ortugrol Korkcu are due to defect BDP and create a Turkish leftist party to win the votes of leftist Turks in the upcoming municipal elections.
The daily said the strategy has been planned by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) to win the votes of leftist Turks. The party is reported to have been dubbed Democratic People’s Party and will try to win seats in some Turkish cities in the country. Meanwhile there are reportedly some voices inside the BDP who are against establishing the party as they believe the Turkish party will disappoint Kurdish supporters.
