SOUTH KURDISTAN (IRAQ) MESOP : Kurds won’t turn their backs on US

31.05.2014 – Bestun Kakayi – BasNews, Erbil – The Chief of Massoud Barzani’s Staff Fuad Hussein pointed out that in President Massoud Barzani’s visit to France, French officials have urged Barzani to fix the situation of Iraq. He also stated that Kurds will not turn their backs on the US.  

Hussein said that in his visit to Europe Barzani told officials that Kurds cannot repair a broken country. He pointed out that Barzani has said: “Kurds can’t continue with Iraq like that and they will do their best to find a solution for Erbil – Baghdad issues based on the constitution, and we will set a time for finding a solution, if the issues is not solve, they will be obliged to hold a referendum in the Kurdistan Region.”Regarding the statement of the head of KRG Foreign Department Affairs Falah Mustafa toward US, Hussein noted that: “We will not turn our back from US but it is clear that in many cases we have different opinions about them and the friendship between Kurds and US will be continued.”Hussein revealed to Voice of America (VOA) that Barzani will take the support of the countries he visited backto Kurdistan Region.
