SOUTH KURDISTAN (IRAQ) Kurdistan Civilians Wounded in Turkish Airstrikes – Two PKK Vehicles Burnt in the offensive – PKK killed 7 Turkish soldiers

Basnews English – 22/04/2017 – ERBIL— Turkish warplanes bombed the hideouts and bases of the dissident Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Qandil Mountain, wounding several people. Eyewitnesses reported to BasNews that the offensive near the town of Amedi, in Duhok province, began Saturday afternoon, in which two vehicles of the guerrillas were burnt.

Kurdistan24 news channel reported the airstrikes damaged three civilian vehicles and a livestock plant, wounding several people.None of the parties to the war have announced the causalities caused by the airstrikes.

Turkey’s bombing against PKK, especially in Amedi vicinity, has been intensified in the recent days. The attack on Rekan area of Duhok on Friday left a woman seriously wounded.

Turkish media, quoting military commanders, said on Friday that over the past week 45 guerrillas were killed during ground and aerial operations conducted by the army in six southern provinces of Turkey. Turkish Radio and Television, the official media of the government, reported that on Friday alone PKK killed seven soldiers and wounded seven more in clashes with the army.
