Delegation of Democratic Political Union met with the political body of the Syrian National Coalition in Friday in Istanbul about the possibility that the Kurdish National Council will join the Coalition and the formation of two committees to stop the fighting and return stability on the ground. Mustafa Osso said that they discussed with Turkish officials the future of Syria, relations between Kurdish parties with opposition, attacks by extremist groups against Kurdish areas, and the siege by the regime and extremist groups. Osso asked Turkey to put and end to these groups, and provide humanitarian assistance. Turkey allegedly stressed that these groups pose a threat to Kurdish areas and will provide support for Kurds. Turkey allegedly asked the two Kurdish councils (People’s Council of West-Kurdistan) and the Kurdish national Council (KNC) to have a unified position and asked them to meet with Salih Muslim in Istanbul, but in the end they didn’t meet. -Posted by Wladimir van Wilgenburg
