5.1.2013 – Pro-PKK news agency ANF accuses the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of fragmenting Kurdistan (West [Syrian] and South [Iraqi]) by closing the border with barb wires. ANF claims even Syrian and Iraqi baath did not put barb wires at the border in 1968. According to news reports a commission should be formed to open the border crossing. Report of Rudaw suggested that the PYD were imposing heavy taxes on food supplies, and that KRG authorities had closed borders in response. The KRG/KDP are not happy with PYD control of the border.
