Parliament elections will not postpone even for a day: Iraqi PM

9.1.2014 – Kurdpress – Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Kamal al-Maliki stressed the upcoming parliament elections will not be postponed even for a single day, NRT said.

Underlining that the preparation attempts have been finalized, Maliki stressed the fate- changing elections would not be called off and asked all political parties to settle their differences through negotiation. Answering a question about recent fights between Iraqi army and the groups affiliated with al- Qaeda in northwestern province of Anbar, Maliki said he would not send troops to Fallujah, a city in Anbar, only if the city’s tribes cooperate with the army to fight out Qaeda- affiliated forces of the Islamic state of Iraq and Sham (ISIS).
