Ocalan asks Barzani & Layla Zana to lead Kurdish congress

A good idea – but not easy for Layla Zana – 26-4-2014 – Kurdpress –  The jailed leader of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) Abdullah Ocalan has recently issued a request to the long-delayed Kurds National Congress and asked Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani and Turkey independent Kurdish deputy Layla Zana to lead the conference, official told Rudaw TV.

A member of Barzani-led Kurdistan Democratic Party, Muhammad Amin Pinjwini announced Ocalan has demanded Barzani to lead the congress and Zana to be elected as Barzani’s deputy for the Kurdish gathering. Tension between Barzani and the PKK made the congress delayed for third time. Barzani was against Ocalan’s order for the congress and a co-leadership system. Barani has not recommended on the report, but Barzani affiliated Rudaw weekly has released the photo above on its cover.
