| The waiting will all be over soon. Attorney General William Barr sent a new letter to Congress saying that he will be releasing special counsel Robert Mueller’s report (with redactions) by mid-April or sooner. He’s also willing to testify before Congress in early May. An overwhelming majority of Americans want the full report made public and believe Barr and Mueller should testify.
There’s no doubt that the report findings summarized by Barr have given Trump a personal boost: The investigation found no conspiracy between Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Russian government. The question now is: How far will Trump and Democrats go? Trump wants his enemies investigated, and Democrats are struggling to figure out the delicate line to walk between seeking transparency and potential overreach.
Amid the fallout, the administration shifted focus back to health care — a move that could trip up Trump and give Democrats a political way out.
