MESOPOTAMIA NEWS SIGNIFICANT DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGE IN SYRIA ?

Charles Lister

15 August 2019 – Oh, except for ~6 million #Syrians who’ve fled #Syria since 2011, the vast majority of whom were Sunni. But then again, that’s only 25-30% of the pre-war population, so I guess a fairly insignificant change?

The most consistent demographic change in Syria over the last century has been the decline of religious minority populations & increase of the Sunni majority. There is scant evidence the war has changed this trend.
