ERBIL – The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has allegedly detained three Kurdish young men in the region of Rawandiz, said an official on Tuesday.Omer Haini, a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official in the area confirmed to BasNews that three people identified as Omer Abdullah Mahmood, Halgurd Hamad Amin, and Dana Khidir Hamza from the town of Warte were detained on Monday evening at a checkpoint near the mountain of Qandil “without any particular reasons”.

“They have not been freed yet,” Haini said, noting that the three were fasting and had planned to break their fast in the area. “They were detained by the PKK fighters while cooking,” Haini said, explaining that the parents of the young men have gone to the armed group for “five times” but they have not obtained any information about their kids. www.mesop.de
