SOUTH KURDISTAN (IRAQ) – BasNews 12/07/2018 – 14:25 ERBIL – US President Donald Trump hailed on Thursday the Kurdistan Region people and Peshmerga forces, saying that they are “great people and incredible allies in many cases”.The remarks were made during a press conference at the NATO summit in Brussels.

“I think Kurds are great people, they are incredible fighters, they are wonderful, warm, intelligent allies in many cases,” the US top official said when asked by a Kurdistan 24 correspondent if the US President would keep his support for the Peshmerga forces.”As you know, it’s different groups of people, but they’re great people, I do believe they are great people,” Trump concluded.During a three-year war against the Islamic State (IS) in Iraq and Kurdistan Region territories, nearly two thousand Peshmerga fighters sacrificed their lives to end the myth of the extremist group in coordination with the Iraqi forces and international coalition, thousands more were injured.
